This Privacy Policy explains how Kamity (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles personal information when you visit our site, create an account, join a committee, or otherwise use our services.

By using Kamity, you acknowledge this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. For our rules of use, see the Terms of Service.

This policy applies to:

• Our public website and discovery features
• Account registration and sign-in (including OTP verification)
• Committee management features (members, festivals, activities, finance records, and gallery)
• Support and contact communications

It does not cover third-party websites or services that we do not control, even if linked from Kamity.

Account and identity. Mobile number (used to sign in), name, and email when you provide them for your profile.

Authentication. One-time passwords (OTPs) sent to your phone, session tokens stored in secure cookies, and related security logs needed to keep your account safe.

Committee and content data. Information you or your committee members enter, such as committee details, member roles, festival and activity schedules, finance transactions you record, photos and album metadata, and location details for venues or committees.

Location. If you allow location access (for example on “Find nearby”), we receive approximate or precise coordinates from your device or a place you search for, to show nearby festivals and activities. You can decline permission and search by place instead.

Usage and device. Technical data such as IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, and approximate timestamps, used for security, debugging, and improving the product.

Communications. Messages you send through Contact or support channels, including name, email, phone (if provided), and message content.

• Enable committee collaboration (members, festivals, activities, finance tracking, and gallery)
• Show public discovery results when committees publish content
• Respond to support and contact requests
• Monitor reliability and security, and comply with legal obligations
• Send service-related messages (for example OTP codes and important account notices)

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your content for third-party advertising.

Where required by law, we process personal data on bases such as:

• Contract — to provide the service you request
• Legitimate interests — security, product improvement, and fraud prevention, balanced against your rights
• Consent — for optional features such as device location for nearby search
• Legal obligation — when we must retain or disclose information to comply with law

We may share information with:

• Other committee members — based on roles and permissions set within your committee
• The public — only content that committees choose to publish (for example festival discovery details and cover images)
• Service providers — such as hosting, SMS/OTP delivery, maps/place search, and analytics/security tooling, under contracts that limit use to providing services to us
• Legal and safety — when required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and integrity of Kamity and our users
• Business transfers — if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to appropriate safeguards

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above, including:

• Account data while your account remains active
• Committee content while the committee and related records remain on the service
• Authentication and security logs for a limited period for abuse prevention
• Contact messages for a reasonable period to handle support and compliance

When data is no longer required, we delete or anonymize it, except where longer retention is required by law.

We use industry-standard measures such as encrypted transport (HTTPS), HttpOnly session cookies, access controls, and least-privilege practices. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Please protect your device and do not share OTP codes with anyone.

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to apply preferences such as theme. These are required for the service to work securely. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

• Update profile details (name, email) in your account settings
• Control location permission in your browser or device settings
• Request access, correction, or deletion of personal data we hold
• Withdraw consent for optional processing (such as location) where consent was the basis

To exercise privacy rights, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. Some requests may be limited where we must retain data for legal, security, or operational reasons, or where another member’s rights apply (for example shared committee records).

Kamity is intended for adults who manage community committees. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the higher age required in your region). If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

We may process and store information on servers in India or other locations where our service providers operate. If you access Kamity from another country, your information may be transferred across borders subject to appropriate safeguards.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through the service or other reasonable means. Continued use after changes become effective means you accept the updated policy.
